Who E-mailed Me - Tracking E-mail Location

If somebody E-mailed you with a Virus or Sends you a SPAM message which leads to any Malicious website.And now you want to track them,Then how ?.Or else your friend send you a mail and you want to track his present location with the help of E-mail send by him.

Whenever somebody sends and receives E-mails,it means that it will be send by a System which is having an IP address.With the help of this IP address you can able to Track the location of the E-mail send from.You can Track E-mail locations from their Headers.

Follow these bellow methods to track the E-mail Location :

Find E-mail Location in Gmail Accounts :

1) Login in to your Gmail account with Username and Password.

2) Now open the E-mail which you want to track the location.

3) After opening the message at the right side of message you will see an Option calledReply or Reply to all.See the bellow image…Just click on side Down arrow
4) Now Click on Show Original,now a new Tab will ope with lots of Text.This is the Original message send by us.But it was Converted in to normal terms for our Convenience.

5) Now you will see some text written like ” Message from : “, there you can able to see the PC name and IP address of the E-mail Sender.See the bellow image…
6) The nicPC is nothing bu the system name of the E-mail sender,and 175.40.225.170is nothing but the IP of the E-mail sender.

7) Now you got the system name and IP address of the E-mail sender.This is sufficient to find any location.

Find E-mail location with Outlook Express :

We can find the E-mail location in Outlook Express also,follow this bellow method to obtain the IP location of the E-mail Sender…

1. Open the email in Outlook by double-clicking on it.

2. Go to View at the top menu (the menu options for the email, not the main Outlook window) and choose Options.See the bellow image…
You’ll get a dialog box where you can set the message options and at the bottom you’ll see the Internet Headers box.the box is very small and you have to scroll a lot, so it’s best to simply copy and paste the text into Notepad to view it more easily.
How To Track the IP Location :

We tracked the IP of the E-mail,now we have to track the Location. To track the Location of an IP address we have many websites but I recommend IP2Location. After entering in to the site just give the IP in the Ip address box and hit Find Location Button.

And also you can use GeobytesLocator. This is also a good source for IP search,see the bellow image what I have got when searching my IP.
Now you can see the Country,State and City details,this is actually the ISP location,All you have to do is just contact the ISP regarding this E-mail.They will find out the Person’s Address for you.

So this is how you can Track the E-mail Location,but remember this trick only works for the mails which are send by any E-mail Clients like Outlook,Thunder bird etc.
